Adobe Photoshop

Adobe Photoshop is a graphics editing program developed and published by Adobe Systems Incorporated.
Adobe's 2003 "Creative Suite" rebranding led to Adobe Photoshop 8's renaming to Adobe Photoshop CS. Thus, Adobe Photoshop CS5 is the 12th major release of Adobe Photoshop. The CS rebranding also resulted in Adobe offering numerous software packages containing multiple Adobe programs for a reduced price. Adobe Photoshop is released in two editions: Adobe Photoshop, and Adobe Photoshop Extended, with the Extended having extra features available. Adobe Photoshop Extended is included in all of Adobe's Creative Suite offerings except Design Standard, which includes the Adobe Photoshop edition.
Alongside Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Photoshop Extended, Adobe also publishes Adobe Photoshop Elements and Adobe Photoshop Lightroom, collectively called "The Adobe Photoshop Family" by Adobe. In 2008, Adobe released Adobe Photoshop Express, a free web-based image editing tool to edit photos directly on blogs and social networking sites.

DeNoise - a noise reduction plugin for photoshop

Remove Noise, Recover Detail

The Topaz DeNoise 5 image noise reduction plug-in uses IntelliNoise™ technology to optimally remove noise and recover image detail.
Topaz DeNoise puts unrivaled noise reduction quality at your fingertips. Whether you're shooting in low light, fast speeds, or other noisy conditions, DeNoise gives you the peace of mind to know that you'll end up with a clean, clear, and noise-free result.
Other noise reduction methods utilize a range of subtle blurring techniques that often removes detail as well as noise. Topaz DeNoise 5 is the only software of its kind that is able to recover crisp detail while simultaneously removing up to four stops of noise with the utmost quality.

New in DeNoise 5

Featuring a double increase in speed and twice the maximum-image size capabilities, Topaz DeNoise 5 provides a fast and effective way to reduce heavy noise in high-ISO images. Powered by IntelliNoise, DeNoise 5 also introduces two exciting noise reduction tools. The new dual-directional debanding technology tackles banding noise (Learn more about banding noise), while the exclusive Correct Black Level parameter is employed to restore shadow tones to their true richness and color. Learn more about DeNoise 5's new features...

What is noise?

Every digital camera creates imperfections in images called "noise", which appears as unwanted dots, lines and smudges of color. An excessive amount of noise ruins an image by taking attention away from the photo's qualities. On the other hand, too much noise reduction destroys precious photo detail and sharpness, which also compromises your art. The trick is to only remove noise and not detail - something that is exceedingly hard to do.

Enter IntelliNoise™ noise reduction technology.

Topaz DeNoise 5 is powered by a leap forward in noise reduction technology - IntelliNoise™ - which was developed in-house by Topaz Labs after years of research into image processing. The goal of the project was to discover a noise reduction solution that was actually capable of recovering detail as well as removing noise. The effort was spearheaded by a Ph.D in Computer Vision with twenty years of experience in the field, and the culmination of that effort means that the IntelliNoise™ technology exclusively powers Topaz DeNoise 5.
Unprecedented quality in noise reduction has finally arrived. Reduce more noise and preserve more detail than any solution you've ever used.

Remove up to four stops of noise naturally and effectively.

The big benefit of IntelliNoise technology is that it allows higher levels of noise reduction than existing methods while still keeping the photo looking natural. The idea is to make your ISO1600 photos look exactly like you shot it in ISO100 on a tripod. Compare the DeNoised ISO1600 and ISO100 below, and roll over for the original ISO1600 photo.

The DeNoised ISO1600 photo has the exact same amount of noise as the ISO100 photo, yet looks natural and unprocessed. Note the preserved detail and sharp lines with none of the telltale signs of blurriness or blotchiness. It's as if you shot the photo at 100 ISO to begin with, just without any of its disadvantages like a longer shutter speed or smaller depth of field! This is not currently possible with any other technology.
